Vasilis Spanoulis, captain and leader o Olympiacos BC, has been nominated the MVP title in the last two matchdays of Basket League Scratch.

 

Spanoulis got 32 ranking points with 21 points (6/6 free throws, 6/8 2pts, 1/5 3pts), 4 rebounds, 12 assists, 8 fouls won, and 5 turnovers in 33 minutes at home against AEK BC (83-77) for the 17th matchday. Ten days later he got 34 ranking points with 25 points (9/9 free throws, 5/5 2pts, 2/3 3pts), 8 assists, 6 fouls won, 2 steals, and 4 turnovers in 26’19’’, helping Olympiacos win away from home against Trikala BC Aries (105-87) and was nominated the MVP title for the second consecutive matchday.

 

«Without the coaches and my teammates I would have not offered anything», comments Olympiacos’ leader. He also points out «I am thankful to my coaches and teammates for their help. Without their help we would not win games. What matters most is that we win, and not who plays well and who does not’».

 

 

«Everytime I enter the court I feel the exact same love, this immense love for basketball», confesses Spanoulis who makes one of the best season of his career aged 33 years old. «All these years I have high incentives and goals which I always want to reach. This season specifically, the coach pushes me to my limits and tells me that I can play even better, which inspires me and helps me to try even harder. In addition there is a great team spirit, and there are good relationships between the players. We are one, players, coaches, the board and the fans».

 

«We move on like a family», stated the captain of the «Reds» who also answered regarding the competitiveness of Basket League Scratch: «This is a highly competitive League. Every year there are more teams that make progress and this helps the League».
